A Healthy Latte

I spoke with Kayla at Kelapo recently and she sent me a couple of new products to try out for the blog. If you have been following me for a while, you know that I like to make my healthy bulletproof style coffee every morning!

I brewed a Starbucks coffee and added 1/2 tablespoon of the ghee + 1 packet of the organic coconut oil and added some stevia, honey and coconut milk. I put all of it together in the blender and blended it until it was frothy. The best tasting latte that you'll ever have! I made my husband one the other day and he loved it!

The Ghee is made from Grass-Fed, Pasture Raised cows and is lactose and casein free and naturally gluten and trans-fat free. I use mine mainly for coffee, but it can also be used for baking or cooking. I used to believe that fats were bad for us, but in all honesty, good fats such as ghee, coconut oil, grass-fed butter, avocados, etc. are actually needed by the body to give energy and to support cell growth. Fats also help to protect our organs and helps our body to absorb some nutrients and produce important hormones too. I now incorporate ghee, grass-fed butter, grass-fed cheeses, coconut oil + other healthy fats into my diet daily and feel so much better!

I also really love how easy the coconut oil packets are to carry around in my bag. Especially when I go to Starbucks and I can just add the coconut oil for the extra boost of energy! They are also organic, cold pressed, unrefined, which is the only kind that I purchase because I know that the nutrients haven't been stripped through processing.

Kelapo Coconut oil is now available at so many different stores- Target, Publix, Fresh Market, Whole Foods, Earthfare, etc.

Have you tried Ghee or Coconut oil in your morning coffee yet? If you haven't, you really should!
