Weekend Trip to Savannah!

Since we weren't able to celebrate Mother's Day with my Husband's Mom on the exact day; we decided to take her to Savannah for Mother's Day instead! It was a 3 day mini weekend trip, but we had SO much fun!

Everyone else wanted to take a nap so the hubby and I headed to Tybee Island to dine at Bubba Gumbo's Saturday afternoon. I had the seafood gumbo, which was amazing and the hubby had the gourmet burger with pimento cheese + jalapenos. Afterwards, we decided to skip the beach because of the Memorial day traffic and instead we opted to go walking along the marsh for a couple of miles. It was so nice to get outside and walk and enjoy the gorgeous sunshine!

There were tiny hermit crabs EVERYWHERE!! But they didn't bother us; they would run when we walked up.

We also ran into a cute turtle that was hanging out in the shade.

The hubby was excited because as we were walking; a huge barge went by. He loves barges and anything to do with cargo and cruise ships.

On Sunday, we all visited The Savannah Bee Company. We sampled so many amazing honeys! I even tried one that tasted like decadent chocolate dessert. We ended up purchasing some raw honey and lemongrass lotion that smelled amazing!

We took my Mother-in-Law to visit Lucky's Market in Savannah since she had never been. She absolutely loved it and we ended up picking up several items to snack on for the ride back home. We also have a Lucky's Market in Tallahassee that recently opened. I love Lucky's Market because they are similar to Whole Foods but are much less expensive.

Our last stop before heading back to home was Starbucks of course! We grabbed a couple of coffees and some hibiscus tea packets to mix in our waters. We had a lot to unload once we got home, but we really enjoyed our weekend getaway. Getting away for the weekend, made me realize that we work way too hard, so there will definitely be more weekend vacays in our upcoming future! I'm already planning some trips to the Lake and Mountains and camping in the Fall!
